Core Staff
Barefoot Research and Evaluation is made up of two core staff members and
several highly qualified associates.
Christopher Hartworth
Christopher
Hartworth has a social science doctorate and has been working in research and
evaluation for almost 20 years. He started his career working in developing
countries and was involved in poverty alleviation programmes across Africa. In
the late 1990s, Christopher worked on the evaluations of humanitarian responses
to disasters, e.g. the Rwandan Genocide and Kosovo. In 2000, Christopher
returned to the UK and began research and development work with disadvantaged
communities in the North East. Most recently he has completed significant work
around community safety and criminal justice. Christopher has published widely
and believes that peer review is essential for good research and development and
for service delivery.
